The Company

Established over 30 years ago, Royston is a leader in the sale, supply, service and repair of diesel engines and generators. The company is well known for its technical excellence and ability to service both the Marine and Industrial customers in definable geographic or market areas and is considered by some of our customers to be the industry standard.

The company, a fast growing company with ambitious plans it is believed that we can develop our markets and products to a level which will furnish growth opportunity for our Company in line with the rolling five year business plan.

The exclusive distribution of GE Marine engines, the development of engine i our new remote engine monitoring product for diesel engines, plus the launch of FuelTrax the fuel saving and fuel management product has identified the need for a Technical Sales Executive.

The Position

The position being offered is a senior role within the company giving a real opportunity for a driven, ambitious and results orientated individual to build a rewarding and professional career. The successful candidate should have extensive sales experience in selling technical products, ideally within the commercial Marine and Off-shore markets. The position will involve significant UK travel, initially throughout the UK but ultimately in the north of the UK. The role is to research, target and sell our new products into the existing customer base as well as the development of new customers and markets.

Royston operate a staff appraisal system whereby progress on agreed objectives is monitored against agreed milestones.

Expected abilities

  • Development of a clearly defined, well structured and effective strategy for growing sales.
  • Coordinate & manage the timely execution of the Strategy, implementing the necessary activities identified for achieving stated objectives.
  • Diesel engine experience would be preferable.
  • IT Literate.

Specific targets, duties & Responsibilities.

  • Quickly develop an in depth understanding of the companies’ product range, services and markets.
  • Develop identified and new customers for GE engines, engine i and FuelTrax
  • Identify and Analyse competitors products and activities
  • Achieve agreed new sales targets set in conjunction with the Company Directors.
