Client Brings Vessel to Royston for Engine Overhauls

Major overhauls of the port and starboard Cummins QSK60 MCRS were required as part of scheduled maintenance programme onboard a siesmic support vessel. The client, continuing to utilise Royston for engine repairs and maintenance on their fleet of vessels, brought this vessel from Ireland to Port of Sunderland to allow the work to be carried out alongside.

Work Scope

Work on the engines involved the removal of fuel injectors, turbochargers, cylinder heads, powerpack assemblies and camshafts. The engines were rebuilt utilising service exchange components, new bearings, seals and gaskets before extensive sea trials consisting of incremental load testing and alarm shut downs all within budget and timeframes.

Royston continues to impress with its capabilities, drawing on its professionalism, extensive experience and resourcefulness to complete the work on time and to the highest quality standards.
